Combines Acc rolls need explained

I don't have my operators manual handy but from memory I think the accelerator roll on the C62 runs about 1600rpm. We got into this a about a year ago because we no longer use the cluster of open gears to run the acc. roll and dist auger...replaced it with n 50 sprockets and chain..much cheaper to maintain. Accerator roll lugs on the C62 are now steele..this was an update from AGCO a couple of years back due to short life of rubber lugs.

That was a big job. How many man hours went into the projectIJ You certainly did an excellent job. How many bushels do you loadIJ The guys here can load 1550 bushels (wheat) on primary roads.

My son and I just worked on them when it was raining or too wet for field work. Didn't keep too close track of time. I think we could remove, prep, and weld in a new panel every man day. About 24 panels_trailer if you count end panels and slope sheets. Set of trailers was one of those deals that just happened. Really just wanted about a 36 foot trailer but found these and the price was really right, so could put some money into them and they were still cheap. I can haul about 1,400 bu. and get weighed at the elevator. The limiting factor is the scale capacity. If you were hauling on pavement where the DOT boys roam, I believe 1,400 might be a little high. Montana bridge laws don't smile on super-b setups. Generally, the longer the trailer, the more you can haul. Canadians and their overall length limits go the other way and favor the super-b outfits. Don't have C62 op manual but according to the pulleys that drive the rolls they run same speed as rotories (1075ish RPM). The rubber paddles on roll were removed in favor of steel paddles to add capacity and likely less wear. The belt needs to feed material into paddles to get positive affect of acceleration. There is alot more area for material to get in there with thick rubber removed. I believe our Aussie friends have been installing stainless steel paddles in place of rubber to save some money and maybe extend the life. last I checked the steel paddles from Gleaner cost about the same as rubber. Have a good one
