just a note on replacing the rolls, do it from underneath. lay on the chaffer, and they are right above you.

It sounds like it is time to replace those worn rollers.Do it on top of chaffer,and do it once in stainless! Have run stainless for four seasons;still showing the serrations!

Yeah Tom, instead of all those rubberised roller sections, we used four full width stainless roller replacements. Not sure if they are available in US. I'm harvesting cereals, canola, sorghum and chick peas, without any noticeable increased cracking. Average throughput somewhere around 7500tonnes per season and still going strong. A worthwhile investment compared to original lasting less than two seasons.

Thanks Nico. I had never heard of stainless lugs. Might be worth looking into if we need to replace some in the future. I'm sure they would be quite costly though! Take care- Tom langan

From what I can tell, aftermarket ones from Abilene Machine are identical to OEM. Give them a call.

I am just soon to install them on my R72. You just put a plywood over the top of sieves and lay on back and replace section by section. A small impact wrench works best - not air driven as that stirs up dust. Not a hard job I have been told.

we just replaced ours on a r5 and we used aftermarket rolls they seem just fine what a difference it made.we pulled out our rear dist auger that made the job easy and not alot of work it sounds way worse than it is,you can change them from the engine compartment.the dist auger is three nuts on left side and five on the other plus the speed sensor.it sure beats working on the shoe and looking up. P.S if you have someone to turn the machine while your changing them it cuts down on travel time
