Combines afx rotor

The kit is expensive. I think we paid something like $1600 or so once we dickered with our dealer (local Case-IH dealership). I think they originally quoted something like $1750 or so. If our rice spikes hadn't just been reworked a couple of years ago with chrome extended wear components, it would have made more sense to go with a nex AFX rotor. Our dealership quoted us something like $4700 for the new rotor, but that was not with the chrome bars, but the standard ones which won't last as long in rice. I don't know whether the Stewart Steel kit (I think they call it the Axeceller Kit) will fit the standard rotor or not. I was told it would fit all specialty rotors. I can't comment on the kit because I haven't seen it yet. It is at our dealer but I haven't picked it up yet because my wife gave birth to our son Tuesday, and we just got home from the hospital. The person I've emailed at Stewart Steel was named Del Croissant. His address is: info@stewartsteel.com They sell the kit in the US through Maurer Manufacturing, who has a wide array of dealers. I'll let you know my opinions on the kit once I have it installed and use it.

I'm no expert, but I don't think the S.S. conversion kit would be compatible with the standard rotor.Reasoning- the auger type front works best in tough, viny situations where the standard rotor tends to falter. The spec rotor,on the other hand, shines in tough conditions so it can take all the auger front can deliver.Just my opinion.

Here is a link to Stewart Steel. No prices but a link to get them. looks like the auger front in only for specialty rotors.

The stewart steel kit will fit on a std rotor. How well it works I don't know yet.

just to let you know I found out from another mechanic you won't get any current from wire on pto selinoid if you ground to machine clutches were finished fried put new clutches in unchoked opened concaves to 5.5 running rotor 680rpm and she's running fine

The biggest difference is that the AFX rotor has auger type spirals on the front of the rotor instead of the old elephant ears. Check the CIH site for all the details. There is even a video.

I went from standard rotor to AFX in our 2188 this fall. What a difference in beans!! I have just started into corn and running the rotor at 300-320. I have been going by the specialty rotor settings and fine tuning from there.

That is no bargain, I seen them listed this winter from a dealer in my neck of the woods for less.
