Hi Brent, My name is Kurt Maurath, kurtmaurath@ruraltel.net Farming is a great life exspecially being my own boss and being able to change my schuedule anytime to fit my family's needs. Which is the most important to me. But just remember that the goodlord never promised us a "heaven here on earth" that comes later. Kurt

I hope you guys aren't talking from second hand information. I have visited personally with this guy and beleive what he has to say. Sunflowers were not the only issue. My point was how long have some of these guys on this board tryed to get the gleaner engineers to listen to some of the idealsIJ How long did it take just to get a simple kit to put a helical channel over the feeder house opening in the cageIJ Kurt

I hear you Kurt. Iam a long time Gleaner owner and unhappy with R62 performance in green stemed beans. Other colors run circles around me. Not sure how much longer I can wait. Corn performance is good except for a little to much rotor loss.

I have been saying the same thing about Agco for years, we have complained to them about our flex head, it doesn't cut low enough or feed well enough unless we modify the skid shoes, Agco knows about this and even paid for the modification but still haven't done anything yet, once again get off your butts and do something. I was talking to an Agco Service Rep and he is well aware of the problems but its higher up where the problem lies. Another thing i have complained about is a leak out of the side near the belt in the bin, it leaks small grain out, i was told they never heard anything like this but for us to "patch it somehow", no answer at all. We like the R62 and did trade for a new R65, i told the service rep this and told him if this bin leaks they are going to get the combine back, he agreed with me saying once you get it in the grain tank it should stay there until your ready to unload, hope this is a better machine all around. Who do you talk to about these problems that won't go on deaf earsIJ I would like to hear any replies and thoughts, thanks.

I also went to K-State and thought about farming the family farm but had to do it on the side with another job to keep it going. Cutting our subsidies now will not make it any better if that passes in the new budget.

Did you try tilting the cutterbar down and adjusting the springs under the header to 4"IJ I believe Gleaner has a service bulletin regarding the leak in the bin. If I remember correctly the sensor in the clean grain elevator causes the problem when the elevator begins to come under load at the start of the round. Call John Keller at agco service.

I think we have tried everything except extending 3rd helical. Will add that mod before next harvest. Helicals show some rounding of edges, but not severe. This is a 98 R62 with 1200 seperator hrs., extended seperator bars, and no reverse bars.

I am not trying to get anybody fired up but the results of that auction should really make a Gleaner guy wonder about the investment he is making.
