Boog, good deal. It will be late September early October before beans are ready here. None are turning yet. It was so wet this spring we were very late getting beans drilled. Have you guys ever thought about putting in the disrupters in the grate sectionsIJ I would imagine you guys have the special rotor so maybe roping isn't a problem in green stem beans. My 1460 with the standard rotor rumbles something awful in green stem beans. Andy

Andy, actually according to the CIH service tech that inspected our combine a couple weeks ago our 2388 has a Rochelle rotor in it.. You might recall on RPF last fall I made a couple posts about it not sounding or acting like the spec. rotor we had in the 2366. Guess there was a reason..........lol. According to records of the store it was bought new at they did not put the rotor in it and as far as they know it came with it in it as all work done it before we bought it was done there. This machine has been kind of an oddball from the get go. Machine is an '02 by serial n but has several features that supposedly weren't available until the '03s. Have learned that even though we have the correct parts manual for our serial n that it's best to take the part along as usually it's different, especially belts. the spec rotor in the 2366 didn't give us near the problems as the conventional diod in the 1660. Spent 1_2 day pulling a corn rope out of the 60 that was 4' long and close to 4" in diameter:~(. IHboog handshelled some corn today and it tested 27.5% on the elevator's testerbut he said it looked wetter than that. So probably would go at least 30% ran thru the combine so looks like it will be awhile before we do anything. He did say stalk quality was poor so may have to shell it sooner than we want.

Boog, I know I have seen literature on that style of rotor and possibly seen them at the farm machinery showIJ Put a set of Stewart accelers SPIJ on it and you'll have an AFX. Digging crop out of these things is not fun. I tried to run a small patch of wheat this summer too soon(wet) and I plugged the darn rotor on mine. The dang throat slip clutch is seized and it took a big slug of straw in and locked the rotor tight. Not good. I was really worried that I could of taken the gearbox out because of it stopping so fast but I think its alright. I didn't have the platform cutter bar locked up and it fed a big slug of wheat straw all in at once.

I used them in wheat and they worked well. I agree on the drill bit size. I called them so they are aware of the problem.

I have been anxious to hear too-can't really justify the jump to full finger but they look promising. A couple guys over at NewAgTalk.com put them on-they are going to report back after they try them. One guy was going to put them on 1_2 his auger to see if it really made a difference.

I ordered a set of Grain Grabber's last Friday and when they showed up on Tuesday they came with a 17_64" drill bit so they have taken care of that problem.

Thanks! Unit 2. I was wondering about the wrapping issue. I am anxious to give mine a try, hopefully in a week or less. Have a safe harvest! Wolffman

Be sure and let us know what you think of them also. I want to make sure that they work well before I order mine. I have a Gleaner, but even feeding is a plus no matter what color you are running.
