I have been reaping in South Australia mainly, but also up to Northen NSW. going rate for a decent cap. header is around $350 per Hour (knife_productive hour not engine hour) or acre rate of around $12 per acre then 50cents to a $1 a bag once over a tonne_acre. ie. acre rate 18 bag_acre wheat crop equals $15 when reaping at $12_acre +50c. i was wondering from a interest point of view, what opportunities are available in the USA and elsewhere in farming as far as contract or leasing goes. leasing prices_availability etc. thanks

I would have to say we had better yields than expected.. I was thinking 30-65 bpa in corn and we ended up around 100 bpa over all , and about 25 bpa in beans over all.. Could of been much worse, we need some moisture up in these parts, Northern Illinois.

Eastern South Dakota- Things turned out ok for the rainfall we had. 31 bu. beans- 115 bu. corn. We held all that we could hoping for improving markets. Nice to have the combine in the shed for the year.

when i was in sidney nebraska with a harvest crew the best wheat i cut was around 40-50 bu. the worst wheat we cut was around 5 bu that because the had a real bad hail storm on the night we was coming. even though my combining days didnt last long i still had fun. when i went to carlinville my fun was just getting started the corn had diffrent averages in diffrent fields. on weekdays we would shell the good corn which was around 180-190 at best and on the weekends we would shell the bad stuff which would be from 0-90 at best i'm glad my boss had insurance on all his ground. i had fun with the people i worked for even though i had some bad experiences i got to smile and laugh about it cause i know that the lord will see me thru and he hasnt failed me yet, this year was a trial year for me to go on a custom crew it worked out so i will be going next year, i did take pictures and i will be posting them on farmphoto.com within the next couple of days to show you guys. take care have a blessed day

we had a pretty fair wheat run this year. southern oklahoma was pretty bad for us, but it seemed to get better as we went north. i didn't get stopped because of rain to much, so it went pretty fast, until we hit SD and had to wait quit awhile for some spring wheat. only downside this year was the fuel price and trying to get some money for that. all and all not bad but not great.

East central Indiana, southwest Randolph County. We are done with beans. They ran 42 to 48 bpa. Not bad considering how dry we were this past summer. Corn is running at 150 to 170 so far which is actually above average for our ground. No mishaps with the JD 6620 Titan II this year!!

all in all a pretty good harvest this summer..June and July were great to us, August and early September were ok...fought bad weather. corn and bean harvest went smoothly, cutting milo currently, should be done before thanksgiving it will freeze. As mentioned fuel was a killer, but we are all healthy and will be back at it next year and i guess that is the important thing...hope you all have a safe and smooth running to wrap up harvest b-rad
