shim the beater BEHIND the sprocket between the brg collar and the clutch hub with shims or washers.

38 tooth will destroy the beater in corn. 44 is for corn and soybeans - smaller for small grain. AS stated in post below - correctly shim the clutch between the beater brg lock collar - which will be worn bad - and the square washer on the clutch back. 500 springs will not add any tension unless the back is shimmed.

Do you recamend 6 or 8 springs after it is properly shimmedIJthanks for help everyone.dean

6 will do it. 8 may break chain if it is shimmed propery. Some have used a 50H (rare) chain.

My dad had trouble with his C2 plugging at the feeder beater. He replaced the springs with pipe and problems were over. Hw only broke the chain 2 times after that. Jason
