Hello Nathan! Didn't know Hyde's had one; - I haven't been up there for a long time! Does that one have dualsIJ Actually, I was looking at the one at Innerkip. I'd like to go with 35.5 fronts and nothing less than 18.4x26 rears, if they're available on the Masseys. Right now, I'm contemplating a used 9650STS. 477 seperator hours and "sat still" the entire last season. I'm still a little leary of the STS's, although Henderson's seem to like thier STS!

Would the back axles falling off be show stoppersIJ How about the rotors coming apartIJ Most of the stuff in the 8010's seems to be minor stuff but it still shuts you down. When the JD's go, they seem to go with a bang. Also, way to many moving parts on the Deere rotaries still. Check out resale values, nobody wants one with very many hours. Chads

Massey Rotary, No question about it.. When my axial flow lays down and there are none left. I'd go Massey. Never would consider NH, I always helped my neighbor who owned 2 and couldn't keep neither operating. No JD, too expensive to maintaine. No Gleaner. We used to have run Massey-Harris in the 1950's. Went IH red and never looked back.

Would like the Massey with the White 9700 rotor. The old 9700 and 8590s can give the MF 9790 and likly the 8010 CIH a run for the money. If politics would have left White Farm alone there would have been updated 9720 (HC3 white prototype as pictured in fall Cockshutt quarterly) with more power and hyd drive roter.Wouldn,t have had to replace the 9700 with a Massey 8570 (great combine) if there was some of them around now. My 2 cents.

How quickly we forget some of the crap foisted on farmers by a certain green painted company. Certainly we don't need to go into all the updates on the 9000 series combines, including the STS's, or, maybe the total recall on the first 7000 series tractors, or the 6000 series tractors that had the plastic handles the mysteriously broke off in the cold(how much testing would have found thatIJ) I haven't heard of anything near the same level of problems with CaseIH. Really! Our RBX 562 baler is the worst thing on our spread. Everything exept the pick-up has had a problem. And they can`t fix it. The rollers aren`t perfectly round causing the belts to wonder all over the place. There`s no safety shut off for the pick-up to stop in case the bale size swich malfunctions ... and it does. It`ll stop your tractor or burn if your not quick enough. Take a look at the cheesy set up for the belt de-clutch. It has a one season life span. The twine arm sensor needs adjusted evey hundred bales or so or it won`t tie the middle of the bale. The auctions are full of em (and the BRs too). But they just keep on pushin them out the door. As for Deere tractors ours does everthing from spraying and baleing in the summer to cleaning pens, hauling bales and feeding cows in the winter even if it is -40. And it`s never let us down.

Ya Hydes have one. Duals, RWA and an air reel. Beautifull rig. Didn't know DandS had one. Guy I work with, his dad is the parts men there. Cold Springs have a 9690 Massey. Traded in one of their TR98's when Woodstock NH went out of business. Talked to the guy who overseas the crop part for cold springs. They like the Massey. I run a NH TR88 at work, I'd never get one. Too hard to work on and not good quality. Ya Hendersons like thier STS's. They trade about every year. I've heard those combines are so worn out when their done with them that their not worth anything. Same goes for Killins. Never heard anything good about the STS's yet but let me know what you choose. Take care, Nathan

Return elevator was replaced in spring. A few other things also but don't remember as I was planting. Whole inside around the rotors was replaced during corn. I found a chunk of metal on the ground during corn that caused that fix. Stone trap problems. I'm a Gleaner man but to each thier own. Take care, Nathan

Hmmm, we bought a new RBX 462 in January and through 1500 bales this season it was pretty much flawless. I need to reset the size sensor though. None of the other problems you mentioned. I will agree however, that a feeder declutch should be standard. Chads
