It has little to do with BUSH or his energy policy. It has to do with the fact that the freaky leftist tree huggers say we are destroying the planet with our internal cumbustion engines, and that we need 56 different blends of fuel to prevent this. This cost major bucks to do, and the same G0Dless freak show will not let us drill in Alaska because some animal might not survive. This Bush you hate would like to do plenty about the energy situation, but his hands are tied. look at the way he is being harrassed with his judge appointments! The (formerly) mainstream media doesn't help with its twists and turns in the truth.

Yeah your right about china and india and other countries instead of a bunch of people rideing around on bike's theyve graduated to vehicles and i doubt they are as sofisticated as an one of our older model tractors lol.. I also agree Enviromentalist are crazy and we should start drilling for oil. The truth is the mideast could give us tons of oil but since we have like 4 oil refineries we can't do much with it.

There's a lot of blame and explanations to go around on this subject. While we're debating it the oil jockeys and companies are going to the bank with more than their fair share. It's one of the biggest rip-offs this country has ever seen. Remember the Enron mess with jacking prices of electricity to California residents. It's something similar. But you can bet your last dollar that there won't ever be nothing come out about all of us getting jacked up by the guilty parties. Too much money and top cats involved. Alaska could come about but it's just a drop in the bucket. Oil refineriesIJ The major players don't want to build more because then they would have to compete like in the old days. Big oil is behind all of the "not building refineries" because of environmentalist and regulations. They could find plenty of off-shore friendly places to build a refinery. We've almost exported all other manufacturing abroad so why not another refinery or twoIJ The answer. Can't jack up the price of fuel if the supply is too great. There's been too many mergers of oil companies through the years and now they are taking advantage of us consumers. I don't have an 8010 to send back but if I did I'd be happy as a lark to have it.

if you remember back in the 80's their wasn't any gas you had to wait in line for it. now theirs plenty @2.50 I wish people had to wait to buy it @2.50 instead of getting all they want I think it's the law of screw and demand or bend over

Here in Washington State we are paying about $2.79 for road diesel and about $2.35 for farm diesel. I asked my supplier about it and he told me that the local refineries are not interested in increasing production because they like the price where it is. Our illigitimate governor has recognized a small reduction in gas consumption and driveing as a result of high prices and is concerned about a reduction of revenue available for road projects. Her solution: add another $0.09 to the already one of the highest tax rates in the nation to make up for the shortfall. During the spring, myself and a lot of my friends have had to go through sales tax audits by the Department of Revenue. They set a goal of $40 million to get out of the farmers of Eastern Washington. last I heard, the legislature told them to knock it off and leave us alone. I think it's time to get a union or government job.

The "tree huggers" are right. Drilling in Alaska will NOT lower prices and does nothing for conservation. At best is will only postpone the inevitable for maybe 5 years and only causes further pollution. Its our own spoiled lifestyle thats catching up with us. There is more energy used in drying corn than it takes to till, plant and harvest. Artificial drying was unheard of 50 years ago and now consumes millions of barrels of energy. Try the www.earthday.net quiz. I bet if every human used as much energy as we do it would take 10 planets to maintain our lifestyle. Face it...the well is going empty and every extra hole drains it that much quicker!
