Combines R85 and Sisu

It would be good if we could help put more Americans to work though.The more money that is kept in circulation here means the less the government has to raise our property tax to make up for their loss.

You make a good point as AGCO's overseas market is much stronger than in the US. However from a customer view point consider the following: If AGCO imports these for tractors and combines there will still be relatively few sold. lets face it most average dealers are going to sell a couple new tractors and combines a year. So if it takes 5 years for a dealer to get 30 or 40 units in the field how many parts do you think heas actually going to stockIJ With that few operating there should be minimal problems which means it will be quite some time before mechanics are used to working on them. My appeal to AGCO would be that if they want to introduce the SISU leave the Cummins or Cat an option then if the SISU pans out customers will only want the Sisu and the optional engines can be dropped.

BTW Gateway Cummins is in no war with Fabick on ag equipment. Fabick has made it real clear, take your AGCO Challengers and the rest of your farm equipment and stick it. Whereas Cummins is dedicated to the AG and industrial market.

We have been thinking about a 8160 or possibly a 8270. It sounds as if you are pleased. What size of implements are you pulling with your 8160IJ

Tom, Very well put, I think AGCO is moving in the right direction and we will see them becoming stronger in North America.

The 8270(200 drawbar H.P.) would be a bigger horse and would have the 18 speed powershift transmission. It weighs more also which might give you less slippage. The 8160(180 drawbar H.P.) has the 32 speed dynashift trans.(very smooth shifting) I had an 8150 before the 8160 and have been very happy with both. I guess if I had my choice, I would probably go with the 8270 just because it's the newer style. I haven't ran one in the field but my dealer says they're quite a machine. You wouldn't be disappointed with the 8160 either, it is a very good tractor. What are you running nowIJ I pull a 27 1_2 foot J.D. 980 field cultivator but it doesn't work the old girl very hard.

We have older Masseys. We have a 2805 and 1155 that we bought new. Just wanting to update the 2805. We pull a CIH 25' 3950 disk, a 27' field cultivator and 13 shank chisel plow. Do you have several gears between 5 and 8 mph with the DynashiftIJ We ran a 3690 (170hp factory) a few years back when one of ours went down. I was impressed with the Valment as far as power and fuel economy.

I also have an 1135 and a 2705 that we bought new. I think the 8160 would match up very well with your implements. The dynashift has several gears in that range and it shifts so smooth (up or down). Another thing I really like about my 8160 that I never had before is the front-wheel assist. It does make a difference. As I said in an earlier post, the Valmet is a very good engine. The fuel economy is amazing compared to other brands like deere or caseIH with the same H.P. Hope this helps. Where are you locatedIJ I'm 35 miles southwest of Des Moines.

For those of you that have doubts about the Sisu,when it gets here you will wonder why it took so long.Cummins are good Sisu is better.
