You have to remove the feeder house and the feed accelerator from the combine in order to remove the rotor from the front end of the machine. You also have to remove the tines from the separating portion of the rotor, because they are too long to pass through the threshing and feeding area of the rotor cage. Big job or not IJ it depends on what is a big job for you.

in barley we found that running all the covers gave a better sample for malt without loosing any capacity. In wheat we removed the bottom four covers to lift capacity and lower rotor loss.

I have cut out the non adjustable section and welded in the adjustable parts from a cts. Sample improved and was able to run bottom sieve more open.Cannot understand why JD bring them out as non adjustable. Big drought starting to take hold here in Oz, hows your harvest goingIJ

i guess johndeere feels that eveybody has 120bu. wheat and barley like they raise in Az. these machines work very in high yeilding areas. as far as my area in eastern s.d. we are way past dry and moved on to an arid wasteland. most corn is barly head high some still knee high and burned up.grass is very short and only had 300 ac of spring wheat rest was baled for feed. should finish by fri night. never got cover plates for my concaves and am having some rotor lossIJ seems odd. but only making about 24 bu. my current settings at 9:00 pm were rotor 900, fan 1170 concave 0 bottom about on 4 top on 15 ground speed 4.5 to 5.0 mph think I'm out of my mindIJIJ take any advice thanks mit9750

Open your concave up, at least to about 10, and feed as much straw as possible through the machine. This will probably mean cutting lower and_or faster. When you close down the concave on the STS, the threshing section loads up in the front, and you'll have all kinds of problems.

your not the only one nod, your dealer needs to put his "crack pipe" down. according to other guys on this site, it seems there is a problem w_ the ECU,and needs to be re-programed. not sure why or how to do it,but its what i hear. my 9750 is a 2001 and have not had any power loss at all. for some reason, the EPA had to make some rules about emissions so if we drove these things to l.A., we won't bother the folks on Rodeo Drive w_ smokeIJ and I never seen them smoke beforeIJ unless the air filter was really pluggedIJIJ hope someone can help you

nod, I am running a 2002 9650sts. If you are complaining about power I would say you definatly have a problem. We have plenty of power. I can tell you though I feel your frustration in not finding a cure. Went through the same problem with a cummins in a Gleaner last 4 years. Good luck.
