nod, I am running a 2002 9650sts. If you are complaining about power I would say you definatly have a problem. We have plenty of power. I can tell you though I feel your frustration in not finding a cure. Went through the same problem with a cummins in a Gleaner last 4 years. Good luck.

you need to have your dealer check the pressure relief valve in the fuel rail. we had the same low power problem with our 2002 9650 sts's. replacing that valve took care of the problem. you'll know right away when you take it out if that's the problem because the valve will come out in pieces.

I understand the problem is in the way the torque curve is programmed into the ECU. Deere is coming out with a PIP to reprogram the 2002 machines with the common rail fuel system. Your dealer will need to connect a laptop to the ECU and reprogram the ECU.

Right, and be thrilled with the farm programs that are putting more and more of us out of business. Republicans know ethics-Enron andWorld Com ethics. I'd rather trust a Democrat.

Our dealer did a PIP update on a 2002 9750 STS without any noticable power improvement. They also "tried" a restriction (check) valve in the fuel return line which was also to help horsepower. No benefit with this either!

Well doc m, from what I just saw the last few days, seems like most of the country agrees w_bmoney7 and ihc-afc! The democrats (or dummycrats) had a power outage. Dems are only hurting the farmers. Especially here in my poor state of North Carolina. Oh well.

Remember Aussie, all machines have a specific crop and_or condition which they excel in. Canola is one of the better crops for the STS and one of the not-so-good for the Gleaner. I'm not prepared to sing the praises of the STS just yet, as it's still tough to beat a Gleaner in other conditions and the STS is still underbuilt. Have, like you, seen it perform well but have also seen it perform very poorly.
