I don't like the dampeners installed in top duct unless you are able to use it. I would remove top damper and put a straight edge from last 4" of material before accelerator roll area and see it runs paralell with floor under engine. I'm sure no one uses duct dampners hear on flax or canola and I have seen the duct work aiming down toward chaffer instead of parralel with floor. I do know there is a best time to cut canola to prevent the imature light seeds and it does take a bunch of seed to end up any loss to speek of. No matter what the loss is and you want it less I think you can do it. You didn't say you had tried to cut front loovers of chaffer loose and open wide. You'll have to explane how you installed channel helicals on thresher side and what on seperator side and what did you extend into discharge. I'm realy curuous what you extended over top left corner of feeder opening for that is only for P3s. Maybe your main problem is the transision from whatever channels you installed on thresher side to whatever you have on seperator side. I think you will be best off to get rid of overthreshing and flow material nicely to discharge. I know years ago before figureing out some of the upgrades that can be done we blocked off large areas of seperator side to prevent material from getting out before the chopper to prevent shoe problems. Some guys wrapped baler belt all the way around seperator side to prevent material from getting out. Seams as though the canola is out before seperator side. How are your cylinder bars and did you stegger height on seperator sideIJ There are many many machines doing canola without any mods and some with only a couple that are doing fine so I think you should be able to do the same. Give us some more detail on rotor or concave setup if you still have problem. I think you said you only have one other crop one time so likely a guy can come up with a very good mix for you.

It is much easier to bale wheat straw if it isn't run through a chopper. Maybe he could order it with a chopper and then take it off when he decides he wants to bale straw. My $.02

as far as that goes I have been able to bale it if it is tough.
