Ok, I'll amend my statement to say that Allis introduced the first "modern" no-til planter as we now know it. Thanks for the info!

You can thank the KHD(Deutz) boys for that one as they not only bulldozed the Millwaukee plant and the 8000 series tractors but they did a fine job on the dealer network in my area with the PUKE Green the the dealers couldn't sell so they closed their doors too. The remaining dealers saw sales go up as soon as the orange returned, even though it was the same tractor. Tenneco_CIH had it figured out with the IH red. Go to an auction and a green DA won't bring as much as an orange DA with more hours.

I believe Hoover_Boulder Dam is as close as Allis came to doing everything, but even there they didn't get all the contracts. I think at least half the generators are GE, too. I just meant that A-C had the ABIlITY to build something that magnificent from scratch.

You still think Allis and Gleaner are carrying Massey, time to get your head out of the sand. Its a big world out there and Agco is in it and by far their biggest division is Massey, face it,accept it and get used to it because changes are a coming.

I work at an operating nuclear powered steam electrical generating station and we have electrical breaker with the Allis-Chalmers logo on them. Now that says a lot about ACs direction.
