well illinois gleaner, we had 2 ACs a 7080 and a 7040 and a 7060 the 7080 and 7040 were junk and honestly i don't think the 7060 was bad but i don't remember much of it but they were loud!! buddy now listen u come and run ours since 94 it has been in the shop 15 times well i'll say 13 cause 2 times were for warranty stuff and just checkup we had a 93 case ih magnum 7120 has been back there once what does that tell ya! massey had bought white the 8560 was baseically a white on the drawing board then when massey bought them they put it together then massey brought the 8570 out they fine tuned it. massey thought white had a good combine so they just fine tuned plain and simple in the past massey and white have worked close together since they were made in canada so they were working together to develop stuff for them both. i ain't saying we had to back out our rotor i am saying which would u rather back out a plug with hydrostat that backs out everything or with the gleaner that only does some of the backingIJ the 9000 series agco weren't bad but they should ahve been fine tuned and had more HEAVIER PARTS ON IT, it broke the front spindles well 3 times actually but one day i turning the tractor around another round and i would have been on the road and it would have most likely killed me one of the times. hoses have been crimped up on it had to jerk cab off, 3point hitch wouldn't raise up, electric shift, rear housing came loose within the 1st year, 1300 hours on it had to take the fuel pump off and spend big money on it we could have taken it off it woudl have been a cummins or a perkins but agoc had to use the deutz adn it was all complicated. hydrostat drive rotor has more power (if needed) to back out a rotor in the industy today, the gleaner combine can't spread the residue casue the narrow is too narrow so they can't field cultivate the bean stubble and there is always a cold strip in there too that hurts it. how lonf have u kept them agco from the way me taking it u don't keep them long just have them and get rid of them BEFORE they give you any trouble gotta keep something long to know how it is. we know one thing put a magnum against an agco and the magnum will come out smelling like a smelling rose!i have heard the new agco tractors are better i hope they are for agco sake i like them but too many problmes for us but agco better stay in business or we all in trouble, and yes massey did need agco maybe but i know massey would maybe be hurting if they went out on their own but agco wouldn't be where they were at wihtout massey sales that they have they BOTH NEED EACH OTHER PERIOD allen

Just remember that your Massey combine is crawling around the field on Gleaner final drives.

There's a de-commissioned nuclear power plant near here (at la Crosse, Wis.) that was built by Allis-Chalmers. The transformer on our neighbor's service entrance pole was also labeled Allis-Chalmers. Where is your plantIJ

Allen, would you please consider using punctuation and capitalizationIJ A professional look to your writing would add greatly to your credibility. We have an Allis 7040 powershift. It has 5200 hours on it and only gets used for hard work like a 12' chisel plow pulling 1000 gallon NH3 tank or running a JD 3960 and now a NH 900 chopper. It has only had these things done to it: rebuilt turbocharger, two injector nozzles replaced, 8000 style valve cover and breather hose to reduce breather oil loss, new R-134 A_C system this spring, new Michelin tires all around last year, and the shift and hydraulic control cables have been replaced. No housings (engine, trans, rear end) have ever been opened. It will out-chop our neighbor's 7110 CIH on same chopper (both the 7110 and 7040 have the same factory hp rating) I chopped over 700 16' Gehl 980 wagon loads this year without so much as a hiccup. Pretty good for a 24 year old tractor, I think.

gunner, that might have upset three aussie engineers(if they were still alive) working for Sunshine Machinary which was later taken over by Massey Harris. If i remember my history they did a lot of the developement in Arginetina. At that time a lot of great ideas came from lots of practical people.john

Read or know your MASSEY history MASSEY MAN before you open your mouth and insert your foot! AGCO bought Massey for one reason only when they were bought and that was AGRI FINANCE, Massey's Credit division, that is what AGCO didn't have and needed to complete their line. They did not buy them for the Massey agriculture lines but they kept them going, because they were dead with All factories closed. More Dead than any other line that AGCO has bought. The Agri Finance was the only life left to Massey at the Agco purchase time. Granted there was not much of a death gap, but Massey was Dead and revived by Allis Gleaner Co, AGCO. AGCO this Fall to get just a little further away from Massey renamed Agri Finance to AGCO Finance.

Hello Mr. John, believe me when I say that I'm sure I forgot more about Agco and Massey than you will ever know. Also, don't tell me to 'read' the history,if you sir could read and I'm sure you can,you would know that Massey Ferguson is by far Agcos biggest division, that is just the facts.Deal with it.

In 1993 agco passed around a flyer to it's dealers about the history of gleaner. It said that the Three baldwin brothers invented the first self propled combine in 1923 in wichita kansas. I know this because i did a 4 page report on it and i n all of my resarch, i never read about aussie enginers. Were did you here about them atIJ
