Hi larry. Actually around these parts the G is sort of an icon of combines. While most would agree a longer walker would have been great, it's still known as a heck of a cutting machine.

Hello everyone, My Dad brother and I farm in the northwest corner of Kansas by Oakley. We have an R72 with a 30 ft. 800 flex head. This year we raised 1400 acres corn, 500 acres beans, 700 acres wheat plus we cut 600 acres of soys and 300 acres corn for a neighbor. (Starting my fourth week of harvesting tomorrow, just have 360 acres of corn to go) Just having a great time in that gleaner. I can remember Dad having a G' traded that for an l then two different l2's, R60, R62, and finally got the big on last year 1998 R72. Thanks for everyone input into this site.

Hello from Honey Grove, Texas. We farm 2,200 ac. of wheat and soybeans down here near the Red River. We run a '94 R62 with a 500 flex head. My father owned an M and then an l2 before we got the rotor. Am proud to say that the operator at the elevator has deemed our grain samples as the cleanest he gets. Our R62 is the only gleaner rotary that I know of running within a 100 mile radius.

It certainly was good for its era. Mine is a 71' I believe . It has the engine in the back, fan, cyl speed adjustable in the cab, a tach for ground speed along with fan, engine and cly speed. Plus it had grain loss moniters on it that worked good. It wasn't too bad for noise either if the cab had been sound proofed a bit it would have been not bad at all. I found in barley the walkers were the limiting factor as it had no problem taking it in and threshing it.

Yup, here too. Elevator manager says the Gleaners in the area bring in the cleanest beans and much less damage to corn. Too bad we don't get our own corn back for feed as it's all mixed. Somebody out there is doin' a lousy job! (lots of Deeres in the area - could it be themIJIJ!) Tom langan

I farm east of Edmonton,Alberta just past Elk Island National Park.I farm wheat and canola with a TR85 and an N6.I seed with a concord no til air seeder. This is a marvelous site, my compliments.

Well as the name implies I've ran Gleaners a long time. Started in 1965 with an EII, then an AII followed by 2 Gs an M and then another brand then an N5, N5 R50, 5 R62s and now our second R72, I think. I'm from SW Indiana we run about 1400 acs of corn, 750 of beans and 4-500 of wheat. Hey and anybody interested in a slightly used R72 we're about ready to trade our 99 R72 off and it has been a sweetheart ran by a little oldman and our dealer would sure like to hear from you.
