We got dumped on here too. We are supposed to get another big storm just in time for Christmas. The snow we have isn't going anywhere soon so I could care less about more in time for a White Christmas.
We put our plows on early too.
I'd think you wouldn't need anything more than your regular insurance. I'm not an agent though. It would be safe to just ask them. I sell eggs to local people. I don't advertise, just sell to the same people that have been buying for years.
I certainly would not get rid of my strawberry patches. I can't even believe that they asked you to. The parents should make sure their child doesn't get into them, it's that simple.
I do believe that the next stimulus package has been approved. Has anyone read what is in it? I've seen bickering and complaining on Facebook about it. I saw that it will extend federal unemployment of $300 and a direct payment to people (requirements of course) of $600.
I like both programs. Our local 4-H program works with us often throughout the year. Our kids are in scouts and 4-H. It's a lot of running but I think it builds great character and teaches them a lot of skills.
I agree with both of the previous posters, it's just a matter of preference. I do both, round and square. I think the square bales sell better for me. I'm not sure why the other farmers like the square ones better. They are a lot easier to stack.
I would agree that it should be just fine if you just leave it alone. I think it is meant to withstand the bitter cold and freezing temperatures. You will have to let us know how it fares in the weather.
Those flowers (weeds) are everywhere around here. We have dug some up and planted them with no issues. They tend to multiply too, of course it takes a few years for this to happen. I bet they come up this year.
Well I was hoping that it would be better by now but it's not. The weather changed to snow but my sinuses are still going crazy. It might be time to call the doctor! Ugh!!
Anyone notice an increase in rodents in your barns, fields or stored crop? My neighbor was complaining about this but I haven't noticed any increase. It's getting colder now and that is usually when they try to get in the house.
How do you keep the water from freezing when it's below zero at night? I'm talking about the water for the animals to drink. We had this problem last year so we are looking for new ways to be proactive.
We do cover ours here. It gets mighty chilly here in the winter. We also make sure that they can get out of the elements during storms and frigid temperatures. We have had a few get their blankets off too.
Wow Rich! I've never had any issues with any of our Honda products or warranties.
Last I checked Craftsman still did honor the lifetime warranty. Lowe's will replace them, just like Sears did. I do miss my local Sears store.
We have a snowplow for our tractor but it's a pain to put on and take off. I was hoping that someone knew of something that was easier to put on/off. We've got Farmall tractors, so it has to be compatible.
I have not noticed anything different with the animals either. We have had some crazy weather too. It sure affects us but I really have not seen any change in their temperament or health.
What kind of phone does she have? You will need to get one that is compatible. If she has an iPhone, the Apple watches are great. I just bought a Galaxy watch and it does all of those things.
We have 10 to 12 people coming. We will also do a "farm family" Thanksgiving dinner on Friday. That will be out in our barn though (the storage barn). I'm excited to see family.
This is something that I have never heard of. Yet the pictures caught my interest, I need to know more. I can offer no advice but you have given me something to research!
I'm looking to buy a smaller functional but also play tractor for my 10 year old son for a Christmas gift. Any thoughts on this? Should I just teach him how to use a regular one or get something smaller?
I'm going to try a new thing next season, intercropping. Does anyone do it? What crops will grow good planted together? What makes sense? I have heard that it is really great for the soil.
