    Fall cut flowers

Sunflowers are super easy to grow, @Almost Eden. You should give them a try. You might have some, it just depends on the cultivar. An Iceberg rose is a shrub that blooms through October. A China rose is a creeping vine that blooms through autumn. My spring and summer roses are still...

    IH 1440 keyswitch relay problems?

If it's a "sometimes" problem then it could be the chip (the brain). I'm no expert, but that's what's been wrong when I've had "sometimes" problems in the past. I hope you'll let us know once you get it fixed.

What to look for in an ATV/UTV?

What do you look for when it comes to buying an ATV or UTV? Does it basically come down to price and how much it can haul and pull?

    Backyard poultry

Did you have males and females of each variety all together, RichZ? Did they try to mate each other? I've heard that the females can get hurt when that happens, so I keep a close eye on them, but none has shown interest over the years. I've had ducks and chickens and all were allowed to roam...

    Fall cut flowers

Which fall flowers are you growing for wholesaling and retailing? I have the usual mums, pansies, sunflowers, lilies, roses, and daises to name a few. I usually pick one or two exotic flowers grow each season, but this year I didn't want to take any chances. The coronavirus pandemic has been...

    Highest Yielding Open Pollinated Corn

I've only tried two open-pollinated varieties and Golden Bantam worked best for me, especially since it takes fewer days to mature. I try to grow everything from heirloom seeds, but with corn I've always harvested a higher yield from the hybrid varieties.

    Ever heard of soap nuts?

See I tend to think there's a reason for that. Soap nuts might work okay, but I bet if they worked as well as commercial soap then everyone would use them. Our clothing gets pretty grubby because of our lifestyle and work. We're outside sweating, we're digging in the dirt on our knees, and...

    Bulbs coming up

Which of your flowering bulbs are peeking up through the soil so far? Most of my crocus and daffodils have all reached full bloom. It brightens my day to look out at them. What's coming up in your neck of the woods?

Beat Foodborne Illness this Super Bowl

I think the bot is picking up old articles. The Super Bowl has already been played this year. I'm always keen to beat food borne illnesses though. Wash your hands and keep foods at their safe temperature.

    Camel farming

If you were opening a petting zoo, you could use them to give the kids rides for an additional fee. You could lease them to churches for nativity scenes. I don't know if that would be cruel though. Not sure how they'd get treated by people who don't raise animals. I can see how they'd make...

    Harbor Freight Inside Track Coupons

We get the same coupons for free every week. They come in a paper full of different coupons. Ask around and see if you can find them for free. The store here even keep some of them in the lobby. @Qapla Nice find!

    Green Incentives?

Personally, I don't think this administration is that concerned with it. I'd look more locally. Maybe your city, county, or state offers subsidies. I know they're common where I live in California. I hope you find something!

Do you drink unpasteurized milk from your goats/cows?

It's illegal to sell raw milk in some places, despite its recent rise in demand. Getting caught can lead to huge fines and even getting shutdown. But, it's fine to drink your own of course. Do you regularly drink unpasteurized milk? I still don't. I can't get over my parents drilling it...

What To Do With An Old Barn

I'd divide it in two. House ducks on one side and chickens or pheasants on the other. Add water for the ducks and create a decent outdoor area for them to use during the day and you're all set.

    Fixing a cracked beak?

Duck Tape is a specific brand of tape. The brand produces all kinds of tape. Some of it's really pretty so it's great for wrapping presents. When reading the answer, I thought Farm Hand was just making a pun, hence the woo hoo. I don't think he was actually recommending that anyone put tape...

    Blogging

Have you considered adding a blog to the mix as another source of revenue and an affordable method to get your business name out there? I don't have the writing chops to pull it off, but blogging about farm life could be fun. Have you guys tried it?

    Craigs List Ads

I use Craigslist regularly. It's pretty popular in my city. One thing I've learned is to ignore the outrageous low-ballers because nothing good will come of it. The only other free option that I know of is listing something in the community paper. Maybe you have one of those too.

    Mud

It sounds like you have a drainage problem. All that stagnate water isn't good as it breeds bacteria. If this is a one-off event, something that just happened because there was more rain than normal for the area, then you can solve things yourself by directing the water through swales and...

What can I easily recycle on my farm?

Cardboard and newspapers make fantastic weed barriers. Lots of odds and ends make cute flower pots, just make sure to add a hole or two for drainage. Do you have a compost bin? I repurpose a lot of stuff through that. It helps build up the soil so it's win-win.

    Need suggestions! Vacation

I had a blast in Cancun. The beaches are beautiful. Just make sure to avoid the dates when colleges typically go on spring break because it's a popular destination and it gets crowded.
