Combines current combine market share

You're missing the point. As mondo said, Fiat has bought up a family of companies. So has Agco. Deere bought up companies too. It's just that Deere did it over half a century ago. They bought waterloo boy to gain an entry into the tractor market. They bought Van Brunt to gain a seeding tool. They bought the combine componet from caterpillar to gain good harvesting technology. And today, Deere is an excellent company because of those aquisitions years ago. I'm comparing Deere to Fiat and Agco,(buyer to buyer) not Deere to Hesston, Allis Chalmers, or Steiger(buyer to "bought"). Having said all this, I like a lot of Deere's products. We run a 8960, a 9500 and a 9610. We also have Case, versatile, Bourgault, and flexi-coil. We buy what is the best machine at the best price for our needs. If buying all green is the best for your farm, power to you. But if you buy green just to have green, and it is not the best fit for your farm, that's sad. I love to poke fun at the guys that think that way. If John Deere made green a$$holes, they'd want to buy 2 of 'em. Just out of curiosity, what would you have to say if Deere bought out a company of decent size and added it to the line-upIJ SOlID, STABlE, AND, UH, UH, STIll OPEN TIll 5!

Claas have never been "bought" by anybody!!! They are still a family firm with Helmut Claas as the CEO. Anybody who denies that they are not the biggest producers of self propelled harvesting equipment in the world (combines, choppers, mowers) are living in dreamland!!!!

A lot of you are missing the point, who cares if Deere Class Cat or Agco or even Case has market share unless you have stock in company, I want a machine that just works with little or no breakdowns and has service to back it up at a reasonable price.

Rosco: Good line about the green a$$holes. I've noticed around here that there is alot of new Massey product showing up on farms that had only Deere before, sp swathers, combines and chore tractors and a few Fendt tractors. In this area Deere is losing market share, down the road could be the other way.

There seems to be no hydraulic capacity, according to the dealer its only our machine. We've turned up all the reliefs, its either the knife, the canvases, or the reel that will quit on us. The 36ft. honeybee on our combine has never caused us any problems when it came to cutting, the HW with a 30ft. honeybee will stick the knife doing 2mph in lodged wheat, it doesn't matter if its been sprayed off for 3 weeks. Our 36ft. has no problems cutting lodged crop of any kind, both are single knife drives. If it could cut then I'm sure we'd be happy with it, the cab and visibility are great, controls are fine, good road speed. If they don't get it fixed next year then I think they'll be taking it back, I hate doing that though, its a waste of money, I'd much prefer for them to fix it. I've talked to others with HWs and they don't seem to be having the same problems, same with the identical IH machine.

Fendt also produces a combine that is not available in the US even though the tractors are. I have been told that they are good machines but not having used one I can not say for sure. You can take a look at them on the European website for Fendt. Thanks
