more to it than bad sample in the hopper. grain loss out the back was terrable, holes started showing up just over 100 hrs. parts availabilty was unaceptable. owned 7 red combines before this nightmare,we finaly got our crop out thanks to our dealer loaning us a 2188 three times. put 300 hrs. on 8010 and it was so undependable,wore out,and waistful, we traided it for 9760 sts. it will be our first green binder.we sure been getting a lot of teasing from our green neighbors.

Hello Del, Don't let the "Green teasing" get to you; - just remind your neighbors that the caseIH dealer will probably be more than happy to take your 9760 on trade for an 8010, once CaseIH gets the bugs worked out of it! Why did you trade for a 9760; - wouldn't a 9860 be a closer match to an 8010IJ Just wondering!

mostly green we have cut with a neighbor's 9750sts three years and his new 9760sts this last year, well satisfied with the performance. picked the 8010 because we have always run red binders. went to mississippi and looked one over and was quite impressed with the looks of the 8010, but we learned the hard way an 8010 is like a woman looks can be very deseiving. 9780 was 15,000.00 higher than the 9760 and the only thing different the way we ordered it is more horsepower. so far the last 4 years hp has not been a problem. also service and parts availabilty is very good at our jd dealer, they have good high tech support also which is becoming more important everyday.

Hello Del, Good point; - from I can see, the only differences between a 9760 and 9860 are horsepower and bin size. I'm sorry you didn't have better luck with your 8010, and I hope you didn't "take a bath" on trade-in value. Opinions on the 8010 seem to differ from "night and day" on this forum; - some people have good luck with them, and others don't. I'm currently running a Deere conventional but contemplating a 9660STS next year!

Del I'd like to see pictures of the 100 hour "holes" that is interesting. What crops were you having trouble with loss inIJ Chads

chads----do not have pictures but case reps took plenty, the first hole that showed up was on the main frame post at the entrance of grain to the screens[slinger]. at 100 hrs. about 1" circle, at 300 hrs 2.5" circle. dealer built a new style baffle to divert the grain more to the middle of the screens insted of all to one side. i think they should have stuck with a tailings elevater. the slinger itself had several holes, not much thicker than a coke can. the hopper had two holes right under the augher on left hand side. if all that showed up in 300 hrs. just wait till three years old and 1,000 hrs. rice gave us fits out the back the most, low yeilding soybeans were impossable to set in also[ had about 700 ac. of beans that stem canker ate us up ]. the 1500 ac. of good beans we had the 8010 did a good job in. the 2020 header also had wear problems, replaced 6 floor panels during harvest due to holes wearing in them, two were replaced twice.
