I have'nt seen a MF for several years now. Our only dealer was a small independent and he unfortunatly could'nt compete and quit business. Do you have any experience with the MF in grass or clover seedsIJ last time I saw a Massy was at an ag show about 5 years ago and they sure impressed me. I thought they had some real well thought out features that would do well in small seeds. What is your impression, would it make a small seed combineIJ

We only harvest corn and soybeans -- quite frankly most combines today are overengineered with too much electronics for large seeded crops -- small seeded crops might be another story but can't believe we need all that stuff -- just give us a combine with a large grain tank, heavy duty final drives, strong frame, enough power and simple design such as the MF!!!!!!!!! Onion Farmer on the MF site might know something about small seeded crops.

I like the way you think. Simplicity and functionality, two things overlooked today.

You must not know how to set a green one if there is "stuff" coming out the back then huhIJ But let me guess the guy runnin this green one knew what he was doin and it was all the the combine, guess what, all combines can be set with next to no loss if you just take the time to do it.

Ferge what size machine do you have and where are you located at if you know about the farm center you must buy there I have looked at one there this spring it had 36ft air head on I did like the simplicity of the machine the kind that a farmer can work on but I need one big enough to handle my 18 row I do buy some stuff from Eds sales man Rod hes a very straight shooter when it comes to dealen and his other guys use to work for Case as the territory rep and the other one was in sales good people there if they quit building 2388s maybe a Massey for our backup machines I had planned on get rid of 3 2388s for 2 8010s but I see that will never happen 1 of them pigs is all I can take.

I have yet to see a Green rotor run in corn with little loss. You can pretty well pick out the corn fields around here. My guess is then, that nobody, including the factory reps, can set the darned things. If there's a way, somebody needs to clue these guys in. Chads

I have a combine with a standard rotor, one with a specialty and one with an AFX, and I will say that the AFX rotor will do at least 15% more then the other 2. So many people bad mouth stuff off of hear say and have no facts at all to back it up. It will take a while to work out the bugs on the 7010 and the 8010 but it will happen. They are taking a hudge leap into technoligy so its inevitable that flaws will be out. Westlake harvesting ran an 8010 this year along side of the 2388s so there is a harvester who could give the details on the pros and cons..I believe that the 2388 is by far the best combine out there it may not cut the most acres per hour but they are simple to set and they last forever. I have a 98 model 2388 what just turned 4700 engine hours, I have put very little into the machine other then basic wear and preventive maintenance here and there, I will put it up against any machine as far as running all day long and doing a quality job..
