Yes! It has been really rainy here too. I just smush the mushrooms with my foot. I don't want them growing in the flowers. Someday maybe I'll try to grow edible mushrooms.

We tried growing gourds this year. I took last years gourds and threw them in a big pile of dirt in the corner of the yard (on the bank by the crick). If they were going to grow, when would they have started? I tossed them there last fall.

We plant burpless cucumbers, they are the long skinny ones. They have fewer seeds than regular slicing cukes. We planted pickling cucumbers this year too. We have picked 3 or 4 so far. Our weather has been kind of crazy so our garden hasn't produced a ton yet.

Hmmm I'm not sure that I would try to mix seeds in one pot. I would keep them all separate. If you are only doing greens you can mix them once you harvest them.

I really have never had any problems with the animals and fireworks. We don't let them off on the farm though. We can hear some but not very good. We are surrounded by farms.

I don't keep score either. I'm always willing to help someone if they need it and I can help. I don't really pay attention to other people in how much they help others.

We use our tractors and ATV to get around our farm (when we aren't walking). We do have a couple of corn fields a few roads over. We take the truck or tractor over there.

Seriously our temperatures were in the high 60s last week. Yesterday it was 68! Tonight through Friday morning we are under a winter storm warning. We could see 6 to 8 inches of snow. I say, what the heck Mother Nature!

Interesting! I didn't even think about the permits. I just assumed anyone could grow anything that was legal. I bet the illegal growers are mad now that it is legal!

We do our own books too. We keep a separate account for our farm versus our personal account. Taxes would be a nightmare if we didn't do this. I love anything business related so to me it's not boring.

We are looking to buy a new hauling trailer. I want an enclosed one, hubby doesn't. We would be hauling equipment and sometimes tractors. What's your opinion on enclosed or open and what brand?

That is awesome news Gordy. We had great weather over the weekend too. It's still beautiful out, but could snow Monday. We have been outside getting things picked up (branches, etc.).

I wish we were this "mechanically inclined"! I'm crafty but with crafts, not equipment! I wish though. I wish my husband was too. We come up with great ideas of what we need, but that is as far as it goes.

I agree with everyone about watching what you are buying. I try to stay away from anything that doesn't say Made in USA. I try to buy local as often as I can. I don't know why our leaders aren't trying to find alternatives.
