All Deere is, is a good retailer they have Bombadier build there 4 wheelers and call them Deere, so there no different than all these other merged companies, don't really care about the farmer just market share.

I'd kind of been wondering what happened to the Agcostars. The 4WD market is pretty thin, though. Why did the Conventional combines tankIJ Do they still offer the turrent unloading optionIJ Chads

"especially given Deere's extensive debt load" What debt load is thatIJ last I checked, Fiat was in heavy debt load, particularily with taking on CIH. Stock prices don't look that good either! AGCO is high in debt too, heavily leveraged with all the buyouts. With Deere's recent profits of $1.4 Billion, don't think the debt load is too high, otherwise there would have been a lower profit to pay down the debt. As for the guy who stated CAT worldwide market share of 50%, I think that is a false statement. Does anyone remember CAT getting out of the harvesting and Ag business all togetherIJ Claas has the market share.

You are absolutely correct Tony. Even Deere has a manufacturer in China and one in Brazil that make small combines, producing a bunch of machines per year, nor sure how many. And to answer pbutler, maybe Big Truck can fill in some of the blanks. Duetz-Far comes to mind and there is another beginning with F, but can't recall the name.

Some are still confused by the whole Cat_Agco_Claas deal. Heaven forbid they read or remember what they read. If these people are so confused by the ag market, maybe they should take a look at the diversification, mergers and acquisitions going on with their beloved pick-up truck manufacurers. If they only knew how diverse the origins of the technology tused to make pick-ups go vroom the ag market would be the least of their worries. CNH does have a huge debt load, no question, but they aren't the influential type at this point. Deere is because of market share, market share at a huge cost to themselves. A move I probably wouldn't be so bold to take given debt : equity, but they are trying to take advantage of the condition that CNH is in.

Your right on some of your claims. But you need to do a little more homework. Jesse lindeman Took a JD Model "D" and put tracks on it. Deere then asked him to make this version on their orchard model "GP". He was also a full line JD dealer. Wagner built 4wds for JD before they released the 7020 in 1969. As for Macdon, they offer their equiptment through most all mainline dealer networks. They're called Premier for JD, Harvest Pro for Case, Prairie Star for NH, and Westward are in their somewhere too. They sell lots because they are alot less $$ than the commercial size windrowers that the others sell. Redekop on the other hand is completely independent and has no affiliation with John Deere what so ever. As for the rest of your claims I'm not sure about. But I don't think the farming industry would be where it is today if it wasn't for good hardball competition, agree..

he mentioned sunnybrook also and I think they are owned by agco. This agrument will go on forever as long as theres competition. We just bought a buhler after running a 7800 deere think we made a good choice but who knows.

Agco still has some innovative products on the market even though they might have used existing technology. Can't beat fendt tractors, hesston balers, massey rotor combines, massey tractors worldwide. They will be 1or 2 in ag equipment in 10 yrs.
